Uttarakhand police found 6 people living in a cave in Rishikesh. They have made cave into a home. They had been living in it since the beginning of the Coronavirus lockdown. All of them were foreign nationals and they were broke with absolutely no money with them. They were trying to survive in a cave and wait until the lockdown was over.

These 6 foreigners include 3 women and 3 men who were found in a cave near the river Ganges close to the area of Lakshman Jhula on 19th April 2020 (Saturday). They were found after the policemen were reported by the locals about their location. Since the lockdown, there have been reports where many foreigners were let out of their rented accommodations by their landlords. This was due to the fear of them being the carriers of the Coronavirus.

They are now kept in a quarantine center where they will be provided for their basic necessities. All of them had no symptoms of Coronavirus after their examination.

As per the police, there are currently more than 700 foreign tourists in Rishikesh.

In Rishikesh, among the total number of 42 reported cases of COVID-19, 9 people have recovered.
