As per the reports, the Uttarakhand forest department is all excited and ready to open up a treehouse for the tourist in the Fato range of the Terai west forest division near Ramnagar in Nainital from early next year.
According to government officials, the concept of the treehouse promotes sustainable and eco-living without causing any damage to the natural surroundings. The officials also mentioned that this would be the first-ever treehouse in the region that will be opened for tourists to visit from next year.
Revealing more about this plan, Balwant Shahi, divisional forest officer, Terai West forest division, added that ss the structure has been built in the biodiversity-rich Terai west forest division, visitors will get to enjoy sightings of tigers, elephants, and deer while sitting in the comfort of their rooms in the treehouse. He also elaborated that the cost per night for booking the treehouse would be around INR 10000 to 15000.
According to him, more such treehouses will be set up in the forests of Uttarakhand. Reportedly, a 40-feet-high structure will be opening its doors for visitors from next month, which has been built with Sal and teak wood and has two bedrooms and a bathroom.
This is not over yet. During Christmas, the forest department will also inaugurate the jungle safari around Christmas. This step is also meant to increase employment opportunities for the youth.
