Covid curfew extended until 9th August in Goa

The state government will review the curfew guidelines after 9th August.

The Chief Minister of Goa, Mr. Pramod Sawant announced on Saturday that the curfew restrictions will be extended until 9th August. He said that relaxations in the curfew guidelines will be reviewed after August 9.

The positivity rate of Covid-19 infections in Goa has dropped to 1.92% in the last few days and the total number of new Covid cases is now between 90-150 per day. These numbers are good but still, the state government is working towards making it better.

The upcoming tourist season will start from October and it seems that the state health officials are working towards vaccinating as many people as possible. With tourism businesses hopeful for reviving their businesses, the state government is increasing its vaccination drive.

As of now, the same curfew restrictions will continue as before with a 50% occupancy rate for all social gathering places such as Gyms, restaurants, auditoriums, and offices.

In the coming weeks, more Covid data will be released and reviewed. The curfew may be extended further until the tourist activities are considered safe.
