From today (16th July), flight from Delhi to Bhuntar in Kullu-Manali restarted its services after 4 months of lockdown. Due to the pandemic, air travel was completely canceled for all tourists.
Today, 12 passengers landed from Delhi to Bhuntar. This flight will only flight three days a week. The days of travel are Monday, Thursday, and Saturday only. According to the airline officials, all safety guidelines are being followed to ensure the health of the passengers.
The airfare from Delhi to Bhuntar is approximately Rs. 6,500 and the return flight from Bhuntar to Delhi will cost Rs. 14,000. These fares are likely to change over time as the number of passengers increase. Currently, the capacity of the flights is around 50 passengers.
International flights are still banned and the government is working towards starting flights between the US, Germany, and the UK. Bilateral talks are still in progress and until now, No decision has been made to restart International air travel.
The following report from 3 weeks ago from the YouTube channel ‘mint’ showed an announcement from the Aviation Minister where he was preparing to start international flights. However, the decision is still pending and according to the Aviation Ministry the decision will be according to the bilateral agreements between the two countries.
