Flights will resume for Jaisalmer from 31st October

There is also a potential risk of Covid's third wave that might create more lockdown restrictions.

The airline companies in India have announced that they will resume their services from Jaisalmer starting from 31st October. All major airports such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Jaipur will start their incoming and outgoing flights from Jaisalmer.

After a long stagnation in Rajasthan’s tourism industry, the resumption of flights will be good news for many businesses associated with tourism. The surge in the number of domestic tourists will help in reviving the tourism economy of Rajasthan. Thousands of artists and small businesses are hugely dependent on Rajasthan’s tourism industry and revival is only possible when tourists will be allowed to travel.

At present, the Covid situation is very much in control in India. However, the constant threat of the upcoming third wave might make things more difficult for the tourism industry. There is no way to know for sure if tourism will see any significant growth for Rajasthan starting October. It is very much likely that the new Covid variant might pull the region back into lockdown restrictions.

The new Covid cases in India are gradually decreasing and more and more people are getting vaccinated. Due to this, there has been a surge in the number of tourists traveling to Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, North East India, and Kashmir. Overcrowding of tourists was observed in all the popular tourist destinations.

With the start of the winter season, tourists will start to visit destinations such as Rajasthan and Goa. It is expected that the beginning of the winter season will help revive Rajasthan’s tourism businesses.
