Goa is developing homestays in the villages to boost tourism

Travel restrictions are still in place for the unvaccinated tourists visiting Goa.

With the upcoming winter season, Goa is getting ready to welcome tourists. Domestic tourists are the tourists that are expected however, the international flights are still suspended.

The tourism businesses and the state government are exploring a different ways to make tourism more interesting for Goa. With that in mind, the homestays in the rural villages are being developed for tourists. This will help boost the rural economy and the tourism sector as a whole.

Many locals living in the village are encouraged to start their homestay businesses. The state government with the local village governing bodies are developing the necessary infrastructure for tourism.

In the coming months, the tourism scenario will be much clearer. The travel restrictions are still in place. Only fully vaccinated tourists who have received the 2 doses of the vaccine will be allowed to travel freely. All the other tourists will have to get a negative RT-PCR test done before traveling.
