Goa is witnessing domestic tourist flow despite Covid restrictions

The international tourism is still halted due to the Omicron scare.

Goa has been working hard to revive its tourism industry. The business owners have been waiting for international tourism to start again. However, due to the new Omicron variant being detected, international tourism halted again. On the other hand, Indian tourists are traveling in large numbers to Goa.

Due to the cold weather in the North Indian states, hundreds of tourists are traveling to Goa to escape the winter chill. It has been observed that thousands of Indian tourists are flocking to the beaches of Goa. The business owners have found much-needed revenue from tourism activities.

Recently, the Indian government has re-introduced several travel restrictions due to the new Omicron variant. However, most of the visiting tourists have been fully vaccinated and traveling has been much easier for them. But the Covid-appropriate-behavior is expected from all tourists. The RT-PCR test has also been made mandatory but the implementation of this rule is still not in full swing.

In the coming weeks, we can expect many revivals to the local businesses in Goa. Following is the news article from ‘Reuters’ reporting about the recent increase in the number of visiting tourists to Goa.
