In Goa, International tourists expected from October and Domestic tourism starts from 2nd July

250 hotels have been allowed to open from 2nd July

In the recent announcements made by the State Ports Minister Mr, Michael Lobo, many tourists especially from Russia have started booking their vacation in Goa. Mr. Lobo owns a hotel in Goa and said that he himself received several bookings for his own hotel as well.

Mr. Michael Lobo also urged the government to allow the opening of bars and restaurants to cater to the local tourists as well.

Mr. Lobo also said that the Dabolim Airport has started booking chartered flights which are scheduled to arrive in October. Many international tourists are expected to reach Goa at the beginning of October. The minister also said that he expects the tourism industry to recover within a year.

From tomorrow, 2nd July, 250 hotels have been granted permission to open up for tourists.  The state government has finally decided to allow domestic tourists to come to Goa.

The tourists have to book their hotels in advance and then they have to be approved by the local tourism ministry. Also, the homestays and small motels that are unregistered will not be allowed to operate.

The tourists will have to carry a health certificate proving that they are COVID-free. If any tourists are found COVID positive, he/she will be sent back to their state or given an option to be quarantined.
