India Railways planning to start a new toy-train safari on Darjeeling railway route

The toy-train safari is expected to be a 3-hour long journey.

The Indian Railways are planning to start a new toy-train safari on the railway route to Darjeeling. Darjeeling is a beautiful tea estate known for its gorgeous views that attract hundreds of tourists that visit every year.

Tourists will be able to enjoy the mesmerizing views of the Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary along with the views of the mountain range. The toy-train safari that is being planned will be a 3-hour long journey from Rontong railway station to Siliguri station.

The Indian Railways has been recently working on similar projects to improve the tourist activities in India. Such initiatives will make India ready for tourists once the tourism industry revives fully. As of now, India is trying to improve its tourism sector by introducing new projects along with improving the existing ones.

The toy train has been declared a UNESCO ‘World Heritage Site’ in the year 1999. These train routes are very popular among the tourists who travel through India. The train track at Darjeeling is situated at an altitude of around 2200 meters above sea level.
