The tourism department of Jammu and Kashmir has laid out a plan to promote tourism in the region. Some of the major activities are planned to be promoted aggressively would include trekking expeditions and the promotion of local festivals.
These initiatives are meant for the revival of tourism considering the losses that the tourism industry faced during the pandemic. If the development plans go accordingly then the tourism of Jammu and Kashmir will be ready to receive international tourists. The tourism department has also started organizing cultural and sports events. Recently, Jammu and Kashmir promoted several roadshows which were meant to target domestic tourists.
Several other cultural activities will be promoted in the future. Some of these activities include music, art, dance, and traditional events which will help improve the livelihood of the locals of Jammu and Kashmir. Through tourism, many local businesses get a chance to sell locally produced artwork and souvenirs along with other business activities.
