Karnataka prepares for Covid restrictions

The officials of the Health Department said that the 4th wave of Covid is expected in the 3-4 weeks.

The Health Department of Kerala announced today that after the detection of a new Covid variant in Bengaluru, the state will start preparing for imposing Covid restrictions. The officials of the Health Department also said that the 4th wave of Covid is expected in the 3-4 weeks.

The new Omicron sub-variant BA.2 is considered to be more transmissible. The expected rise in the number of Covid cases will be seen in the months of June & July. The officials of the Health Department also said that the state of Karnataka is prepared to handle the fourth wave of Covid.

The measures are being taken to control the spread of the new cases. Also, the testing has also been increased significantly to detect the spread of the new variant. In the coming weeks, more and more data will be released from several states, about the new Covid cases. Presently, it is hard to determine how fatal the new variant is. With more and more data, the efficacy of the virus will be determined in the coming months.

The tourism businesses are likely to suffer more in case of any lockdowns and restrictions. As of now, the tourism businesses of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Northeast India are recovering slowly. However, in the coming weeks, the restrictions might be imposed on the tourists.
