On September 30th, the government released fresh guidelines to allow more activities related to tourism in India. After tourism being severely hit in Ladakh due to the pandemic, the government officials are all set to help promote tourism activities.
According to the new guidelines, the cinema halls, theatres, and multiplexes will be allowed to open starting from October 15th. However, the occupancy will be limited to 50% for these businesses. Also, strict adherence to the safety guidelines is expected to the followed by all these businesses.
For Ladakh, many government agencies have come forth to encourage the promotion of tourism in this Union Territory. It is expected in this month of October, that the tourism activities will officially start in Ladakh.
The tensions with China have also been a cause of concern for the tourists planning to visit Ladakh. However, it is possible that the resolution for peach will be established this month and the tourism will come back to normal this month. The month of October is generally good for traveling to Leh and Ladakh and many people travel by motorbikes to enjoy the barren landscapes and beautiful rivers of Leh and Ladakh.
According to the reports, there are 74 people who were tested positive for COVID on 1st October. The total number of cases in Ladakh has reached around 4200 and as of now, there has been no death because of COVID. Ladakh has been relatively safe as compared to the rest of the country where the number of new cases is still rising. The total number of active cases is currently 1064.
