Mixing of Vaccines are being done because of shortage of vaccine supply

Reports of mixing Astra Zeneca and Pfizer's vaccine has been reported.

Presently, Indian hospitals and vaccine manufacturers have reported a shortage of vaccines. The Serum Institute of India (SII) also reported that their batch of local vaccines called ‘Novavax’ will be delayed. This is another worrying concern among the general population of India, as the demand for vaccines is much greater than its supply.

The following news report by ‘India Today’ shows the present situation that is being faced by the people of India.

Although there are several concerns regarding the safety of the vaccines, there are still people in India who are rushing to vaccination centers to get their dose of the vaccine.

In the state of Maharashtra, the journalists were denied the vaccination and were told that there is no adequate supply to vaccinate them. Earlier before, journalists were considered as the ‘Frontline Workers’ and now it seems they will not be prioritized for vaccination.

Another major cause of concern is that due to the shortage of vaccines, people are mixing AstraZeneca and Pfizer’s vaccines. The experts said that mixing two vaccines can be bad for the person. Both these vaccines have also been reported to have serious side effects such as the formation of blood clots and infertility.
