One of the biggest yoga centres to be built in Jammu and Kashmir

Mantalai in Udhampur district currently building the biggest Yoga centre in Jammu and Kashmir. The project is expected to be finished by March 2021. The site where the centre is being built is popular among tourists for Aparna Yoga Centre of Dhirendra Brahmachari.

Dhirendra Brahmachari was the yoga teacher for the first lady Prime Minister of India, Mrs. Indira Gandhi.

The yoga centre is being built in a pyramid-shaped structure. It is meant to attract tourists from throughout the world. The centre will include meditation pods, a spa, a treatment centre, a helipad, a dining area, and a large Yoga Hall.

According to the officials, the focus is to attract tourists. The development efforts were slowed down due to the COVID situation. The centre can accommodate around 60-70 people at one time.

There are many developmental initiatives being taken by the government to boost tourism in India. It will take some time to get the results of these projects. Even with the opening up of international flights, the number of incoming tourists will take a couple of years to increase to a significant level.
