The hotel owners of Parvati Valley have decided to reopen the hotels for tourists starting from 15th September. Also, the hotels are offering a 50% discount on booking to attract tourists.
Parvati valley in the district of Kullu in Himachal Pradesh has been closed due to the pandemic and many tourism-related businesses have struggled to survive. After being closed for the past 6 months, the hotels will open up again with all the safety measures in place.
In the past week, the government has announced the opening up of many temples and spiritual and religious sites for tourists. After this decision, the accommodation requirement of the tourists was also considered and the hotels decided to reopen for this purpose.
The decision is an effort to revive the tourism business in the state of Himachal Pradesh. Many hotels are working towards offering attractive discounts for tourists.
There are around 300 hotels and homestays in the region of Kullu which are ready to reopen. The hotel association of Kullu announced that the sanitization of the hotel premises and other safety-related preparations are already being done. All these preparations are according to the SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) issues by the government.
The hoteliers have also asked the government to relax the restrictions for the tourists. Especially, the requirement of an E-Pass and a COVID negative test. According to the hoteliers, this will help tourists to travel without any hassle.
With many other states in India opening up for tourism, Hoteliers in Himachal are interested in opening their facilities so to revive their businesses shattered by the pandemic. There are still fears of increasing the number of cases as more and more tourists enter the state.
