Sikkim to relax travel restrictions for tourists starting 27th September

The RT-PCR tests for tourists will not be checked at the borders of Sikkim

Sikkim government announced that it will relax travel restrictions for tourists visiting the state. According to the announcement, the RT-PCR tests will not be checked when entering the borders of Sikkim.

Although the requirement of the RT-PCR is still there, the government has said that the responsibility of checking or the vaccination and the RT-PCR test will be on the hotel officials. So, if the hotel decides to check for the RT-PCR test or vaccination, then it can do it on its own.

These measures will be implemented starting from 27th September. The winter travel months have started for the hill stations and tourists are expected in great numbers. With the reduced restrictions, the tourism businesses are expected to revive for Sikkim. However, only time will tell if this can be sustained.
