The green village of Khonoma in Nagaland is now open for tourists

Only vaccinated tourists who have pre-booked their stay will be allowed to travel.

The famous eco-friendly village of Khonoma is known as the ‘Green Village’. This village is very popular among nature lovers and tourists alike. In the past few months, the village was closed off for tourists during the pandemic.

The tourism department of Nagaland has decided to open Khonoma for tourists starting September 2nd. However, certain guidelines have also been announced that are required to be followed by all incoming tourists.

One of the main guidelines states that tourists with pre-booked stays and tourists on packaged tours will be allowed. This means that tourists will have to register themselves before traveling and show the required documents when asked. Also, the vaccination certificates will be checked as only vaccinated tourists will be allowed.

Social distancing measures will have to be observed at all times. The officials have stated that people who will not follow the safety guidelines will be penalized and will not be allowed to travel further.
