Tourism will restart in the islands of Andaman & Nicobar

The tourism businesses will be allowed to open after 3 months of closure.

After three months of lockdown and closing of all tourist activities, the tourism officials have decided to restart tourism activities. Due to the increasing number of Covid cases, the tourism industry suffered financial stress.

Now, the islands of Andaman and Nicobar will start their businesses such as water sports, boat riding, and all beaches will start welcoming tourists. More and more rules are being relaxed and tourism is getting promoted as well.

Also, tourists will get tested for Covid free of cost upon arrival at Port Blair. Once the test is done, the tourists will have to self-quarantine in their hotels until the test results are obtained which can take 24-48 hours. Earlier, the rule was to quarantine all tourists for 7 days. Now, this rule is no longer there.

The local businessmen are quite relieved to know that they can now resume their business activities. The people of Andaman and Nicobar are largely dependent on the tourism industry for their livelihood. With the new rules, the upcoming winter season is expected to bring in much-needed revenue from tourism.
