We all know that fresh snow attracts tourists with full enthusiasm. The same thing happened recently when tourists flooded Himachal Kullu Manali to witness the fresh snowfall. Manali witnessed a sudden rush of travelers coming in from different states. It made the hoteliers happy. The snowfall happened at the Atal tunnel on the Manali Leh Highway but unfortunately, the administration of Lahaul and Spiti stopped the tourist vehicles from moving beyond the tunnel.
The fresh snow has turned out to be a boon for the locals who are in this business. According to them the number of tourists is expected to go high in the coming days in Kullu Manali. This will happen due to extremely low temperatures which will turn out and give the snowfall experience of a lifetime to tourists. The room occupancy in hotels has seen a hike up to 70 percent.
Some prime and most attractive locations in Himachal are Solang Valley, Atal Tunnel, and Gulaba. And now that all the places are covered in ample or no the number of tourists is definitely about to increase in huge amounts.
Besides snowfall, the Atal Tunnel will remain closed for vehicles twice a week from 7 AM to 9.30 AM for regular maintenance works and no vehicle will be allowed in the tunnel on Mondays and Thursdays starting December 20.
The Rohtang Tunnel or the Atal Tunnel is named after former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. It is built at a height of 3000 m above sea level between Himachal Pradesh’s Manali and Leh in Ladakh. And did you know that this 9.02 km-long tunnel is also the world’s longest highway single-tube tunnel! How crazy is that? Well, Himachal is the place that can’t be questioned, but just felt.
