Rs. 50 will be charged for two wheelers, Rs. 200 for the cars and 300 for SUVs and trucks.

Recently, a new tax has been introduced for tourists who are visiting the Lahaul-Spiti area. A barrier was placed at Sissu in the Lahaul region near the Rohtang tunnel. As per the new rule, all two-wheeler vehicles will have to pay Rs. 50 to enter the area. Similarly, Rs. 200 for the cars and Rs. 300 for SUVs and all large vehicles such as buses and trucks.

This tax has been introduced by the Special Area Development Authority. This tax has been introduced to limit the number of people entering the area. Recently, there has been a huge increase in the number of people visiting Himachal Pradesh. Due to this, a lot of overcrowded roads and damage has been done to the environment.

Since the opening of the Atal Tunnel in Rohtang, people have been traveling through this tunnel and posting themselves on Social Media. Also, many people have been reported to get out of their vehicles and dance in the middle of the road under the tunnel.

As per the authorities, the tax money collected will be used for developmental purposes. Also, people who pay regular taxes will be exempted from this new tax. It is quite possible that in the coming months, more and more states of Himachal will start asking for such taxes.
