UNESCO tag given to Ramappa temple in Telangana

The state government is working towards boosting the cultural tourism of Telangana.

One of the most popular temples in Telangana is the Ramappa Temple. This temple was built in the 13th century and is famous for its architecture and engineering. UNESCO gave a heritage tag to this temple making it more important in terms of tourism.

The state government has decided to plan more and more projects to promote the temple and the tourism activities in Telangana. Lately, many tourist destinations have been recognized by UNESCO, and GI tags were given to many products that are made in India.

Ramappa Temple is located in the Warangal district of Telangana state. One of the most defining features of this temple is the intricate carvings done by the sculptors of Kakatiyan. A recent conference was held by the ministry of tourism where the cultural tourism potential of Telangana was discussed.

Ramappa Temple is now a Unesco World Heritage Site. This is great news for tourism stakeholders. With the opening of international tourism, a boost to cultural tourism is expected in the next year.
