Yumthang Valley in Sikkim is now open for Tourists

More destinations will be opened in the coming weeks.

The state government of Sikkim has announced on Wednesday this week that the Yumthang Valley will be opened for tourists. The famous Yumthang Valley is situated in the village of Lachung in Sikkim. 

The government of Sikkim is currently working on opening up more destinations to allow tourist activity. These measures are taken to increase the revenue of the state which is largely dependent on tourism. Tsomgo Lake, Nathula, and Baba Mandir are also open for tourists visiting Sikkim.

As per the government, a strict COVID-19 appropriate behavior is expected from all stakeholders of tourism. These include hotel staff, tour guides, and taxi drivers to get fully vaccinated before opening up for tourist activities. Wearing masks and social distancing measures will be enforced.
